We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers for their support of us and the store. Fall Retreat

Fall Retreat - November 4, 5, 6 , 2011

For this retreat no classes will be held, and to account for that we have lowered the price to $60 per person for the weekend. We will still provide a few short demos and lots of great door prizes, but we feel this will allow you more time for scrapbooking or finishing up your holiday projects. There will be lots of food, laughter and fun – that won’t change! We have a limited number of seats for this retreat, so don't miss out, sign up now! Cut off date is October 29th.

Refer-A-Friend Program

Runs until September 30, 2011

All you have to do is refer someone (new or existing customer) who has not been to our New Location since our move from the old location, and you will earn the equal amount of points that they receive on their first purchase.

Give your friend one of our 'Refer-A-Friend' business cards and when your friend comes in to shop, they will present your card to our staff. The total amount of your friend's purchase points made that day will be added to this card (your friend will also receive their own card and updated points). We will hold this card for you until your next visit. You can continue to fill this card or have the points transfered to your current card.

The cards you hand out must be returned to the store by September 30, 2011 to qualify.

Cricut 103 – Materials
This is the next class in Dianne’s Cricut Collegiate series. You will need to have taken Cricut 102 to sign up for this class. In this class you will explore the different materials that you can use for your Cricut projects.

Beginner’s Scrapbook Class
In this class you will learn the basics about layout design, paper coordination, embellishments, and create a 2 page layout. You will need to bring 4 – 6 related pictures and be willing to trim them. Includes a free adhesive.

*Class requires a 12” paper trimmer and sharp scissors.

Kids Club

Tween to Teen Class

TIM HOLTZ DEMO DAY

Dianne and Paula are cooking up some exciting demos with FREE make and takes using Ranger products and featuring Tim Holtz Idea-ology collection.
This event will run from 10:30am to 5:00pm.
Each hour we will demonstrate different few techniques using the Ranger and Tim Holtz products and then you will make a tag using those techniques. At the end of the day, the make and takes will be combined to make a cute mini album.
Even if you can attend one of them, it is sure to be an educational experience!
Anyone who attends any of the demos will get their name entered in a draw for a Tim Holtz/Ranger Product Gift Bag.

Circle Journal Update

We are extending the sign-up date to June 4th, so if you are interested in joining the Circle Journal Swap there is still time. We are also extending the turn around time to 1 month rather than 2 weeks, so this will hopefully help you feel less pressure to get the pages done.

Its a great way to connect and share your passion with other scrapbookers - and its FREE!

CIRCLE JOURNAL
Krista is a busy girl this month, not only teaching her 3rd run of the Gated Album but she is heading up the Circle Journal Swap! There is a detailed information sheet as well as an example of what the circle journal is about at the store now. There is no cost to join, all you have to do is supply your album and create a layout for each of the participants in their chosen theme for their album. It is a wonderful way to share your ideas as well as finding a way to use up some of your supplies!

The sign up sheet and handouts are now available and the cut off for signing up is May 31st.

Circle Journal
We have a fun and dynamic project starting at the store in May! Krista is heading up a Circle Journal Swap to start here at the store. There is no cost in this project, however you will be required to provide your album and commit to completing pages for each participant. There will be more details posted and an example of the Circle Journal is available now at the store.

National Scrapbooking Day

Spring Retreat Thank Yous

We have recovered from our Spring Retreat weekend at the Quesnel Fire Hall. Thank you to all the ladies for making this such a successful weekend. BIG THANKS to Kelly and Ahmed Kaid for all of their help setting up and taking care of the hall throughout the weekend. Thank You to Ron Richert, Ken and Ben Rempel and Clint Sword for helping the ladies bring in their supplies.

And thank you to Dianne Put for organizing the tag book class! We will have some kits available for sale in the store by the weekend.

First, I would like to thank everyone again for all of their support in the transition to our new location. We are really happy with it, now that we are all moved in. With the move have come some changes - we will no longer be selling a Discount Membership, instead we will be providing you with a Points Card that you can redeem for free product when it is full. With the Christmas holiday hoopla behind us, it is time to look to the New Year and all the memories that we will create this year! Have you been keeping up with your New Years Resolutions? For 2011, I have decided to scrap at least 1 page per week! That means by the end of 2011 I should have 52 completed pages! So far I have finished one for my Disney album, and am now working on my next one...hopefully this will help me to finish that Disney Album before we go again! Store Transition In Progress

We thought we should give you an update on our move. So far, we have completed inventory & packed everything (thanks to Joan & Sharlene for all their help). The husbands, Clint and Ken, have moved all of the heavy stuff and the slat board and shelving. And my good friend Stacey for painting and putting product on the walls. We hope to have all the product back on the shelves and organized this week! We are very excited to open our doors again, we still expect that January 11th will be the day.

Although this move was not our choice, and the timing could have been better, we are sure you will see the effort we have put in to make it feel like home again.

We wish all the best to you and your families in the New Year! We look forward to a year filled with wonderful memories, that will hopefully end up on your scrapbook pages!

A Page In Time is writing a new page in our book! We are moving our little store to a new location - on the main floor of the CDC Building on McLean Street right beside Blumko.

We will continue operating in our current location until Friday, December 24th. We will then be closed until we have moved in to the new place. We are expecting to re-open our doors on January 10th.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal and fantastically creative customers for their continued support of us and the store. And our Design Team members (Sonya, Melissa, Krista, Dianne, and Barb) who continue to put their heart and soul into their work and share their love of scrapbooking and card making with everyone who enters the building. Scrapbooking is a Dynamic form of Art that I have been doing for longer than I can remember and as the newest member of A Page in Time's Design Team, I am excited by this opportunity to challenge myself, to explore new possibilities and products, and to inspire others. I live to think outside the box. To pick up a tool, a piece of paper, an embellishment and to use it in a way that it was NOT intended for, to draw MORE from it. Vintage Grunge is my default style, my heart racing at the sound of Tim Holtz, Graphic 45, and Seven Gypsy's, but my inspiration comes from the details in each photo and I love to “hear” what style they deserve. A clean military line, a domestic goddess pop, or an elegant black and white are all very viable if it draws out the “voices” of the photos. Because that is where it all begins - with Capturing moments with great photos of every day life, milestones and heartbeats you want to never let go of. Then taking those and Create the story, composing these photos along with pieces of memorabilia, accents, colors and designs into a full feeling to share with others- joy, pride, love, laughter. If successful in finding the perfect complimentary balance, it Captivates the audience as they experience a taste of the moment in your life and the lives of the ones you hold close. Regardless of the passing of time, the changes in life, or the aging of the subjects, simply by turning a page a moment is relived and remembered. That is why I scrapbook. Melissa has done it again with a cute little chipboard album featuring the 'What's in my Neighbourhood' line from Reminisce. Bright, bold primary colours make this little album a great keepsake for a loved one, big or small! Sonya has created two bright and beautiful layouts using BoBunny's 'Sun Kissed' line and check out how she used the felt fusion loops from Queen & Co.

2010 Discount cards will not be sold after August 31, 2010. They are currently available for $9, and will give you 10% off any store purchases up to December 31, 2010.

In the new year we will be starting a new rewards program that will not have a membership requirement. Details will be available in January.

Design Team Auditions
Kits are now available and projects are wanted back by August 31st so don't wait too long to get yours! Details on the DT Auditions can be found under the Design Team tab of the blog. Kits have the specific instructions on what you will need to create. We are looking forward to seeing your creativity!

Scrap Club for Fall
There are a few spots left for the next Scrap Club. It will start September 24th, and it is such a great way to get out and visit with your fellow scrapbookers!

We will meet once a month for 4 - 6 consecutive months (depending on how many people sign up). Each month, one person in the group is the ‘host’. Each person commits to paying $25 per month, and the ‘host’ gets to spend that money at A Page In Time (as a gift certificate). Each person must commit to paying the $25 for the designated time period whether or not they can attend each crop. When we meet each month, we will have a 3 hour crop time, in which you can work on any scrapbooking projects you wish. At each crop, there will be a bonus for all attendees, such as a make and take project for you to complete, a free product, layout kit, etc.

KIDS CLASS & BO BUNNY PURSE CONTEST WINNER & DESIGN TEAM KITS

Kids Class - August 15th
Kids Classes have continued through the summer, and the one for August is fun and different! The kids will make an explosion box of their very own to celebrate their summer memories! This little box will be filled with colourful embellishments and their own pictures, they will never tire of taking the lid off and watching the colourfull walls fall down... an example is available in the store, and we only have a few spots left, don't let your kids miss out.

This class will be held on Sunday, August 15th at 1pm - 2:30. Ages 6 -12 are welcome (parents are not required to attend and no supplies are neccessary other than pictures that will need to be trimmed). Cost is $15.

Bo Bunny Purse Contest Winner
Jennifer Dahl was the lucky winner of the BoBunny Purse for the contest we ran a few months ago! The contest required you to identify the paper used in our bathroom ad up at Boston Pizza - the correct answer was BoBunny's Jazmyne line. It was fun to see some of the 'guesses', and are glad for such a great response. Keep your eyes open for our our ads up at Boston Pizza, you never know what you may get out of them!

Design Team Kits
The DT Kits will be available on Tuesday, and we are really looking forward to seeing your creativity! We want to see your personality and style in your entries. The products in the kit may look challenging, but that is the point! We want to see what you can do...and please read the instructions in the kit carefully.

ANNOUNCEMENT - DESIGN TEAM OPEN CALL

We are looking for scrapbookers/card makers with a desire to create layouts, cards and projects for display in A Page In Time Scrapbooking store. If you are looking for a challenge and enjoy showing off your work you might want to consider auditioning for our team.

All you need to do is:

Purchase a kit for $6.00 AVAILABLE August 10th (Rules for the kit completion are on the kit. Please read carefully.)
Return your completed project by August 31, 2010.

Design Team members will be required to:

Create a 1 or 2 page layout; or 2-3 cards; or a scrapbook project for store display and feature on store blog using a kit that includes ‘free product’.
Return item for display within 2 weeks of receiving product, or the team member will be charged for the supplies.
Include something of all products supplied for layout.
Instruct one demonstration of a new technique or product in the store at least once during their term with APIT.
Sign a contract on a 4 month basis and commit to following the Design Team rules for that period.

Design team member privileges:

Design team members will receive a discount on any store purchases during their contract period, not including special orders or classes.
Receive ‘free product’ each month.

Design Team Members will be announced on September 7th!

I feel like I have neglected the blog lately...but it was for a good cause! I have been working with Youth Entertaining for Service (Y.E.S.) and their recent production 'Rock On'. For those of you who were able to get tickets, you know why I was so busy!!!!

But now, life is slowly returning to 'normal' and I need to catch up on what is in the store myself!

There have been many new arrivals in the last few weeks as well as some much wanted refills of Mamarazzi and Peacock Lane paper and embellishments!

SUMMER CLASSES & KITS
With all of the fabulous summer activities demanding our time and in turn creating plenty of photo ops, we have decided to cut back classes in July and August with the exception of the Kid’s classes. In place of the classes, we will be providing a class kit each month in case of a rainy day! Get ready for some great things this fall, and don’t forget there will still be plenty of new arrivals coming in the next 8 weeks! See the CLASSES tab for info.

PRIVATE PARTIES & CLASSES

Plenty!!! The store is overflowing with new product, so even if you have been in the last week, it already looks different today! The Design Team has been hard at work and their newest layouts are in the store to inspire you!

May Classes have been updated on the 'Classes' page, but don't forget about the classes left in April. The Wooeden Calender class is full, but there are still a few spots left in the Card Box class on April 29th.

We are looking forward to our 3 day retreat next weekend, and can't wait to see all of the creative energy in one room! It will be a fun filled weekend of door prizes, free classes, and a grand prize of a Bind-It-All machine! And of course all the time you need to scrapbook or papercraft!

This week was a whirlwind of activity in the store, tonnes of new arrivals and 2 classes have put me a little behind! But that is good, right! Check out all of the new items listed to the side. I will do my best to get some pictures on here, but honestly you need to see(and feel) these products in person.

Our latest great find, is a product called Flower Soft. We received it last Tuesday and it has flown off the shelf! But don't worry, we have a second shipment on its way! In the meantime, you can check out this video I found on youtube that gives you an idea of how cool this product is.

We Are Back...

Marilyn and I had a blast at the Retailers Event in Edmonton last weekend. We took in 8 classes (7 Gypsies, Bazzill Basics, Ranger Ink, Clear Snap, Tattered Angels, American Crafts, Fancy Pants, Bo Bunny) and visited with over 20 manufacturers. Keep your eyes open for the new arrivals that will be showing up in the store over the next few months. I may not be able to keep up with pictures, so you will just have to come in to the store and see for yourself! I will try my best to keep a running list to the right side of the blog as products arrive (I am serious, I may not be able to take pictures of it all...)

Spring Retreat

The retreat is starting to fill up, so don't wait too long to get your spot. We are going to be having a three mini-classes, demos, and lots of time for scrapbooking. It is a great weekend, filled with fun, creativity and friends...April 23 - 25 - $75 for the weekend - includes dinner Saturday night and snacks throughout.
